If you ever have any questions or concerns you can always give us a call at 847-695-3652. We will ask you questions over the phone to help determine if your pet is needing emergency care or if it can wait and be seen by the primary care physician in the AM.
IMMEDIATELY SEEK EMERGENCY CARE IN THESE SITUATIONS:
1. Seizures
2. Trouble Breathing
3. Any injuries to the eye
4. Ingestion of any poisons such as antifreeze, rat poisoning, human medications, household cleaners, fertilizers, pesticides, or other harmful chemicals
5. Blood is seen in urine or feces
6. Broken bones
7. Patient is unconscious
8. Swollen abdomen that is hard to the touch
9.Strains or is unable to urinate (especially for male cats)
10. Any form of trauma such as hit by a car
11. Vomiting and/or diarrhea for more that 24 hours.
12. Has gone more than 3-4 hours between delivering puppies or kittens.
13. Signs of being painful such as whining or shaking
14. Bleeding from eyes, nose, or mouth
15.Serious bleeding
16. Bite wounds or lacerations
We always tell owners to use their best judgment since you know your pet the best. If your pet is acting abnormal at all then never hesitate to call. Once we review what is happening we will be able to advise you as to whether or not you need to bring your pet in to be seen. If you pet is distressed in anyway please come right in.
